Introduction
Cornerstone Apartments are the Ground floor/basement apartments to Cornerstone a Grade II listed Victorian family home. Situated above the traditional seaside resort of Ventnor and nestled below St Boniface Down. Walking distance to Ventnor Town and Esplanade as well as Bonchurch Village
Pre-Arrival
• Cornerstone Apartments has a website www.ventnorapartments.co.uk with room descriptions and photographs. Bookings/enquires can be made directly from the website via email, via telephone or by letter. • All guests are provided with written directions to the Apartments. • The nearest bus stop is at the bottom of Spring Hill 250m away. • Shanklin Railway Station is 2 miles away. • The nearest RADAR toilet is Market Street 500m away. • Randalls taxis are in the High Street 500m away. • The access statement is available on our website and in our Welcome file in the Apartments.
Arrival & Car Parking Facilities
• Cornerstone has two off road car parking bays, one for each apartment. The car parking bays are in front of Cornerstone double garage. This is a concrete flat surface. • Keys to the apartment are collected from Cornerstone House on arrival.
Main Entrance, Reception & Ticketing Area
• Main entrance to both apartments are accessed at street level at the right when facing Cornerstone. The entrance is via a wrought iron gate. There are three steps down and then a turn to the right and a further nine steps down to the alleyway. • East Apartment is the first apartment you come to in the alleyway. • West Apartment is along the alleyway through a wooden gate. The ground is of concrete and flat.
Public Areas - Hall, Stairs, Landing, Corridors etc
• The entrance and alleyway are fitted with security night light which automatically come on when a person is present. • Outside rubbish bins can be accessed. From the Apartments, this is nine steps up from the alleyway as you are leaving Cornerstone and on the landing turn right and a further nine steps to refuse area.
Public Areas - Sitting room, lounges, lobbies etc
• There are no internal shared areas between East and West Apartment as they are self contained.
Bedrooms & Sleeping Areas
• East Apartment has one queen sized double bed with headboard. A spacious bedroom with bedside tables, chest of drawers and wardrobe. It can accommodate standard cot. • In lounge, one of the sofas can be used as two standard single beds. One off the floor and the one a truckle bed. • • West Apartment has one queen sized double bed with headboard, bedside table and chair. Wardrobes are located in hallway outside bedroom. Can accommodate travel cot. • In the lounge a sofa which is not part of the seating area can be used as two standard single beds. One off the floor and one a truckle bed.
Bathroom, Shower-room & WC [Ensuite or Shared]
• East Apartment, Standard electric shower with washbasin and toilet. Shaver sockets • • West Apartment, Shower water off the gas boiler with washbasin and toilet. Shaver sockets
Self-Catering Kitchen
• Both apartments are fully equipped with crockery, utensils, saucepans and frying pans. Four hobs in each with oven. Kettle, toaster, microwave. • West Apartment has a dishwasher.
Grounds and Gardens
• There is a communal garden for both the East and West Apartment. This is a fenced garden. There are three steps in the garden which link the lawn area to the flowered and bedded area. The garden is generally level. • East Apartment accesses the garden via French doors in lounge or via alleyway which takes you into the Garden. • West Apartment accesses the garden via the alleyway. • There are two areas to sit. One courtyard area outside West Apartment and one just outside the East Apartment. In each area there are four standard outdoor chairs and table. • There is a trampoline in the garden which guests can use. But it their SOLE risk and responsibility. The trampoline is British Safety Standard. • Guests have access to charcoal BBQ for their use.

• A welcome pack is provided in each apartment on arrival. • Pets are welcome in the West Apartment. • The apartments are non- smoking. • The apartments are fitted with smoke alarm and fire extinguishers in kitchen. • Carbon Monoxide alarm is fitted in the West Apartment where there is a gas boiler.
